The Chronicles of Homeschooling project was founded to record the history of homeschooling in a winsome, comprehensive, interactive, and ongoing fashion.

Though it is impossible to quantify the personality, emotions, and actions of an entire “movement,” we hope to capture some semblance of homeschooling’s historical character from the minds, mouths and memories of those who moved with it—those who embraced homeschooling and encouraged its progress.

While we cannot hope to seek out and record the philosophies and experience of every homeschooler, we do plan to serve as an open repository for those who wish to record their part in history.

Our ultimate aim is that the Chronicles of Homeschooling might one day serve as a balanced, memorable, and useful account of the movement we’ve witnessed, that future generations will understand its roots, its controversies, and its fruit.
